Can you hear me now?

This article in the New York Times is interesting, and has been the subject of much debate for a long time. I don't use headphones when I run, simply because I don't want to learn to rely on anything extraneous when I'm out there. I also find that some who do use them, especially during races when space is more limited, tend to be oblivious to those around them. It's like drivers with cell phones! The ban does seem heavy, but I agree with the commenter who says that, really, the point is to respect those around you. If one does that, headphones or no, we've got no problem.
